The businesses were evaluated on the basis of the following 10 criteria:(1) Recycling of paper, plastic, metals, glass, electronics, etc.; (2) Energy saving initiatives—efficient machinery/appliances, weatherization; (3) Use of renewable energy; (4) Use of efficient vehicles and cleaner fuels; (5) Land stewardship enhancements; (6) Environment-protecting purchasing; (7) Local sourcing; (8) Rewards for employee sustainability initiatives and community involvement; (9) Supply chain sustainability policies; (10) Other sustainability initiatives.
