Waste / Recycling
Composting - Wastewater sludge
1,200 cubic yards of Hanover's wastewater sludge is composted at a facility in Unity, ME.
In 2011, the sludge will be composted at the Lebanon Landfill and used to make top soil for final landfill cover. This will save approximately 16 tons (32,000 pounds) of carbon dioxide.
