Individual Action:  Self Assessment - How am I doing?

Know Thyself & Power up to Power Down!

Just as we know how much we weigh and how much money we have (or not) in the bank, we need to understand how we are doing in terms of energy use, waste creation, and land stewardship.  By knowing where you are today, you can not only assess your progress, but you can establish measurable and achievable goals for yourself and your family.

Sustainable Hanover has partnered with two different groups to support the self-assessment, measurement and tracking progress to increased efficiency.  What many have found is that by watching your energy use and waste creation as well as by taking care of the land, you will save money and be healthier.

Step 1:
Join Repower At Home to chart your progress to date
and to establish some action items for change.

A clean energy future starts with us.
Across the country, Trendsetters are working to transform the way our homes
and communities use energy.  Join Repower at Home,

Join the Hanover Team/Community:  03755

Team Participation Goal:  150 Households by 11/11/11

Step 2:
Participate in the Hanover Carbon Challenge for a more in depth
analysis of your energy usage in your home and beyond.
(This is for those who want a broader and more in depth analysis of their footprint
and potential changes in behavior at home)

To begin, gather some data:
1. Total Electricity usage for 1 year
2. Total oil/propane heating usage for 1 year

3. Transportation:  MPG & miles per yr for each vehicle in your household.
4. Then, log into My Energy Plan.net
