- working to reduce its solid waste production;
- providing healthier, more sustainable foods in the staff cafeteria;
- promoting vehicle emissions reductions with a 'no idling' campaign, the 2009 purchase of an all-electric utility truck for the engineering department, and the addition of a bike lane to encourage bicycle commuting.

Promoting Parking Car-ma in Hanover:
1. Drive one more minute (spaces off main street are 60-70% occupied); 2. Don't grudge the garage - convenient;  1st 30 minutes are free;
3. Timing is everything: There are fewer people in town between 12 noon and 2pm; 4. Practice Shuttle Diplomacy:  Park in an outer lot - the shuttle runs every 10 minutes M - F;
5. Land on Free Parking: You can park free in the garage for the first three house on Saturday and all day on Sunday;
6. forget the fuss, take the bus: Advance Transit provides free bus service throughout the Upper Valley (www.AdvanceTransit.com); 7. Care to share?  A carpool partner can help lower your commuting costs - Call Upper Valley Rideshare at 802/295-1824 or e-mail rides@together.net.

Or, just be fit and walk, park farther from Main Street and enjoy a stroll through a new part of town.
